North Carolina State Directors
Kathy Jensen, Director: Kathy Jensen was born and raised in Fayetteville. She attended East Carolina University and Methodist College to study business. After college, Kathy joined her family business and worked in the retail, property management, and financial management. In 1993, Kathy married Jerry Jensen and supported him in his military career: from Fort Bragg, NC, Germany, Newport, RI. After years of moving around, they returned to their hometown, Fayetteville, NC. Here in Fayetteville, Kathy raised her five children, and now has two grandchildren has. In 2005, Kathy opened An Affair To Remember Bridal and Formal Store on Ramsey Street. For 14 years, Kathy has worked with numerous women from all ages and backgrounds to make them feel beautiful. Kathy has dressed many pageant winners in her 14 years including many Miss North Carolina’s. Not only has Kathy dedicated her life to serving her hometown through dresses, but she has also been our city council women for the past four years. She has served on many boards and commissions, and has a special place in her heart for the North Carolina Youth Council. It is her love for philanthropy and dedication towards bettering people’s lives that led to her becoming director for Miss World North Carolina and South Carolina. It is our mission to help enable young women to become leaders. We believe our pageant system gives them the tools and resources for these young girls to become women in power.
Lauren Neville, Director: Lauren was born in Greensboro, NC and moved to Fayetteville through her parents work. She was raised on a small farm in Linden, North Carolina. Lauren grew up showing horses throughout the state of North Carolina. When it came time to decide on a college Lauren decided to go to East Carolina University to study communications. Throughout her time at East Carolina, Lauren worked at Rock 103 radio station and was a communications intern at PWC in Fayetteville. During her junior year at East Carolina, Lauren signed up for a fashion merchandising course and fell in love with the fashion industry. Later that summer, Lauren lived in New York holding an internship with a wholesale company, True Divinity, and formal dress producers, Jovani Fashions. Through her work at Jovani Fashions Lauren quickly realized how much she appreciated and loved the formal world of dresses. During the same summer Lauren connected with Kathy Jensen at Jovani Fashions. Kathy later hired Lauren to produce her annual fashion show. Lauren graduated top of her class with a double major in communications, specializing in public relations, and fashion merchandising, with a specialization in buying and design. Fast-forward a year; Lauren took a full time job at An Affair to Remember managing and buying for the store. Lauren has been at the store managing and buyer for three years now and ecstatic to embark on this new journey of Miss World. Lauren has a huge heart for charity and loves to work with young girls to make them realize their full potential.
